This year for GiveBigNRV, the New River Land Trust is raising money to build the infrastructure for a future forested park on Brush Mountain: multi-use trails, kiosks, signage and more. With your help, we can begin to work on making the park open for the community to enjoy.
New River Land Trust purchased two properties totaling 553 acres of intact forest on Brush Mountain. We will transfer the land to the Town of Blacksburg to create a public park in the next year.
The park will eventually be accessible from the Huckleberry Trail and will link to the trails in the Pandapas Pond/Poverty Creek Recreation area in Jefferson National Forest.
The park will protect an ecologically sensitive and scenic area and provide educational and outdoor recreation opportunities to our community.

Your support on Give Big NRV Day benefits our community, our region, and future generations. Thank you!
