New Trails Open on Brush Mountain

Thanks to the combined efforts of the New River Land Trust, Town of Blacksburg, Eastern Trail Co., and Poverty Creek Trails Coalition, new trails are now open on Brush Mountain.

Property 2
Now called Stone-cutters Hollow, open trails are the Road Connector, Mineral Way, Chimney, Snyder’s Knob and Wavelength

Property 3
One trail is open - Running Cedar. The trail runs parallel to Forest Service Road 188.2 on Brush Mountain.

Important

  • Please stay on the trails as the rest of the properties are NOT open to public access and trail construction is ongoing

  • Wavelength is a single direction (downhill) flow trail with expert dirt and rock features - please use caution

  • Please don't ride the dirt features when it's wet - this damages them and costs $$ to repair

Thank you!

We'd like to thank Virginia Outdoors Foundation for funding the property acquisition and trail building, Inorganic Ventures for trail funding, and Nest Realty for funding the mapping and signage, plus the trail kiosk in collaboration with Shelter Alternatives. We also want to thank members of the community who donated time and money to the project!

More to come

As the land manager, we've engaged the Poverty Creek Trails Coalition to build additional trails on Stone-cutters Hollow and on the yet-to-be-named 3rd property. Eastern Trail Company should finish a second trail on Property 3 in mid-June.
